Dr Andrew Dunn


Dr Andrew Dunn joined AVSARC in 2011.
Andrew graduated with first class honours from the University of Sydney in 1995 and spent several years in mixed practice in southern NSW and southeast SA before working in England for 3 years.
He returned to become a partner in a general practice in Coffs Harbour NSW before taking up a small animal surgery residency in 2007 at the University of Sydney and the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) in Sydney. There he completed a three year Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists specialist surgical training programme.
His professional interests are spread across orthopaedics, neurosurgery and soft tissue surgery.
Andrew has authored and co-authored 8 publications in the peer-reviewed scientific literature in the areas of cruciate ligament injury, developmental orthopaedic disease, reconstructive surgery, orthopaedic cancer, orthopaedic diseases of the pelvis, and surgical biology.
Andrew has worked full time in specialist referral surgical practice since 2007 but is not a registered specialist.
Andrew is a father of 3, an avid cyclist and hobby farmer with a menagerie of pets (dogs, cats, sheep, chooks).
