AdiCell™

Stem cell therapy for arthritic dogs now available in South Australia

Adelaide Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre (AVSARC), South-Australia’s leading small animal veterinary specialist and referral centre, and REGENEUS PTY LTD, Sydney-based pioneering biotech company are working in partnership for AdiCell™, the first Australian stem cell therapy treating osteoarthritis in dogs.

Osteoarthritis is degeneration of the joint often caused by wear and tear. It may also result from injury. Like humans suffering from arthritis, arthritic dogs experience swelling, pain and stiffness. In Australia, 1 in 5 dogs suffer from osteoarthritis. It is a potentially painful, debilitating disease of the joints. There is no cure to date for arthritis in dogs, only maintenance options, e.g. drugs and dietary supplements for arthritis.

AdiCell™ is an advanced technology that uses the dog’s own natural stem cells harvested from fat to help repair painful arthritic joints. Unlike major surgery, it is a non-invasive, one-day procedure. “AdiCell™ has demonstrated remarkable results in the first 130 dogs treated so far in NSW and QLD. Working with AVSARC the treatment is now available to dogs all across South Australia” says Graham Vesey, Regeneus CEO. Patients can be assessed and treated for the AdiCell™ treatment at the Adelaide Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre.

The centre provides pet owners and referring vets with exceptional client and patient services including 24 hour veterinary care following procedures. Practitioners in Vets clinics around South Australia will be able to refer dogs to the surgery service for assessment for the AdiCell™. Stem cell therapy. Contact your local veterinarian if you wish to know more about AdiCell™ and the specialist centre will be available by phone to discuss cases with your local veterinarian.
