Dr. Andrew Carter
BVSc (Hons), Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology
Andrew graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 1987. Upon graduating he worked as a small animal veterinarian in Adelaide before travelling to the United Kingdom.
While practising in Essex and London he completed his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology. He then commenced dermatology training at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies of the University of Edinburgh, completing his training in September 2001. In July 2003, he was awarded a Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
In 2011, Andrew established VetDermSA, a referral dermatology service based at the AVSARC.
Andrew has been an invited speaker at continuing education events for veterinarians throughout Australia and continues to support the South Australian Veterinary Dermatology Discussion group which aims at improving the quality of veterinary dermatology in South Australia.
Andrew is currently preparing to apply for registration as a specialist under the Veterinary Practice Act 2003 (SA) and will soon be lodging his application with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.
